Had a wonderful day on Sunday May 2nd 2010. I took my twelve year old daughter to the Badminton horse trials which is about 30 minutes drive from our home in Wiltshire, England. We are very very lucky to be able to live in such beautiful countryside, which is half the reason I bought a trail motorbike quite recently and have been scooting around the lanes and over the fields...keeping an eye out for unhappy farmers and possible escape exits. Ask me to blog about the time I went looking for my son who had gone for a run, and ended up with the bike in a river of mud.
I digress...Courteney is MAD about horses and so I diarised this date which was the cross country trial. She and I had a fantastic day together which is what dads and daughters need to do!! A little cold and drizzly so we had to coat up but once we were there it was stunning. I thought that I was camera crazy...she is worse than me!! If that’s possible!! If she was not shooting she would keep elbowing me and saying...‘here they come dad, here they come!!‘ We spent the entire day taking turns to shoot as the horses either galloped past us or negotiated their jumps. She did fantastically well as I saw when we uploaded the images.
I particularly enjoy shooting motion with a slow shutter to accentuate movement. Here are some of our shots which I have also put onto my sports pages. (Wednesday, 5 May 2010)
